Jean S. Lehr is Owner/CEO of J. Lehr Advertising/Marketing, a division of Timeline, Inc.

Her agency, in 2011, celebrated 25 years in business. The agency represents a broad-based client list that includes companies marketing arts and crafts, furniture, legal services, real estate, financial services and automotive.

Her agency services include branding, marketing plans, media analysis and buying, radio and television commercials, logos, print materials and more. Currently, much of the agency business, specifically in the category of media buying, occurs across the United States.

Jean likes the challenges of being a woman business owner and enjoys the daily rigors of trying to help businesses become more successful. Seeing a business succeed is her mission and best reward for what she does. She has always had a passion for teaching and believes when she goes into semi-retirement, she will once again teach college-level classes.

Jean is a long-time member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). She is a past-president and CEO of the Central Oklahoma NAWBO Chapter and also initiated and served as chair of the first-ever Governor’s Conference for Women in Business with NAWBO as a major sponsor.

She has been active in the community as a member of the Downtown Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow. The Journal Record Woman of the Year program named Jean to the Circle of Excellence for outstanding business and community leadership. She served three years on the Board of Advisors for the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. Jean is a member of the Oklahoma Media Network and received the 2011 Pattie Meis Award for professionalism in the advertising industry.

In 1986, Jean, along with Claudia Hunter Davis, initiated a college scholarship program that provided funds for Oklahoma foster children who wanted to go to college. Dick Coyle and Carolyn Berry, owners of Nichols Hills Plaza, sponsored and provided the initial funds for the program. In 1997, the program was put under the umbrella of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and is called Oklahoma Youth With Promise. Jean has been actively involved with the program since its inception. Oklahoma Youth With Promise has helped hundreds of foster children over the years and currently has aproximately 50 youth on scholarship for the college year.

Jean graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and received her Master’s Degree in Education with honors from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Her professional motto is: “Not advertising is like winking in the dark; you know what you’re doing, but nobody else does.”
